Mike Morris
The Hip-Hop/Back-Up Dancer

Ironically, Michael Morris was one of McGinnis’ outspoken peers throughout high school (he has since apologized), and it was not until the age of 20 that he considered dancing. An avid athlete in high school and college, Morris admits he signed up for his first class to meet young women. For whatever reason he walked through the door, two weeks later he was hooked and on his way to a career in dancing.

From the start, Morris was a very determined student and studied daily at the studio. Recognizing his potential, I worded closely with him to build self-confidence and help him become a full-fledged performer. I immediately involved him in theater productions, workshops and competitions. I also partnered him with two of my best female dancers in musical theater and lyrical duets to teach him partnering technique.

In his first year as a dancer, Morris won numerous awards at competition, and he was hired to dance at Bush Gardens. Today, his resume includes music videos with Madonna, Destiny’s Child, Jessica Simpson and Enrique Iglesias. He has toured internationally with Madonna, Brian McKnight, Jessica Simpson and Joy Enriquez. Morris also appeared at the 2001 Grammy Awards with Madonna and in recent Pepsi commercials with Britney Spears.
